DevOps Engineer (42642)
I am looking for a DevOps Engineer. Your work will involve implementing and maintaining Terraform modules, collaborating with technical stakeholders, and reviewing GitHub pull requests in a GitOps workflow. I am seeking a candidate with hands-on experience in Terraform, GitHub, CI workflows, and Infrastructure as Code for platform or SRE-style services. Experience with large-scale, multi-team migrations and distributed teams is highly desirable.
🚀 Project
- implementing and maintaining Terraform modules, including teams, schedules, escalation policies, services, routing rules, and incident types
- collaborating with team points of contact to gather required configuration data (Slack channels, schedules, alert sources, service catalog entries, service tiers) and translating it into Terraform changes
- creating, reviewing, and iterating on GitHub pull requests for new and existing teams, following GitOps workflows and coding standards
- supporting execution of migration waves for multiple internal organizations, including staging validation, production cutovers, and PagerDuty cleanup activities
- contributing to and refining documentation and onboarding materials for teams adopting incident.io, with a focus on self-service updates via Terraform and GitHub
- tracking and surfacing risks, dependencies, and blockers across teams, and proposing pragmatic mitigation options to keep migrations on schedule
- providing light-weight training and guidance to engineering teams on managing their own configuration through pull requests
🎯 Skills
- strong hands-on experience with Terraform in a production environment (modules, workspaces, DRY patterns, review and promotion workflows)
- solid experience with GitHub
- Git branching and pull request workflows
- code review practices and collaboration in distributed teams
- basic CI concepts for applying Terraform changes
- experience working with Infrastructure as Code for platform or SRE style services (on-call, alerting, monitoring, or similar)
- experience with large scale, multi-team migrations or platform rollouts
- comfortable collaborating with globally distributed teams across time zones, using async communication (Slack, email, tickets) and structured status updates
- ability to read and understand existing configurations and templates, then extend them safely and consistently
- strong written and spoken English communication skills, suitable for interacting with technical stakeholders and summarizing changes clearly
💡 Nice to have
- prior experience with incident management platforms (PagerDuty, Opsgenie, FireHydrant, Rootly, Better Stack)
- exposure to observability and alerting stacks (Elasticsearch, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, Nagios, etc.)
- familiarity with Slack-first workflows and incident response practices
